The sun shined its gentle rays upon the sands of Fort Perox, making everything nice and warm. There was little to no clouds in the sky, a perfect day to be out and about. A certain couple decided to spend a day off and head to the shore to take advantage of this lovely weather.

Today seemed like a perfect day for being outside, everyone was talking about doing outdoors-y type things and hardly anyone was dwelling around in any kind of place that hid them from the sun shining brightly over them. Robin was enjoying her day, all up until her beloved husband had made plans to head to the shore to spend their day together. That was hours ago, and she was still a bit panicked by it. They would have to leave soon, and she had already had a bathing suit that was given to her, so there really was no turning back for her now. She stood inside of the tent she always shared with Chrom, pushing a little lock of hair back behind her ear and rubbing her arm nervously since she knew Chrom was waiting right outside for her to finish up changing.

The bluenette stood out front of their tent patiently. He know Robin enjoyed her privacy, and he was respectful about that. That woman is not a nice thing to see when mad. He had slipped a shirt over his toned body for the mean time, but he would be walking around in his swimming trunks. "How are you, Robin?" Chrom called out gently, a smiling crawling onto his lips at the thought of spending the day with the love of his life.

The shorter woman perked up a little bit once she heard Chrom's voice ask how she was, causing her to shift a little bit and turn on her heels. She had already pulled a shirt over herself, so she was fine to go. She peeked her head out of the tent and forced a little smile up at him, shuffling out of the flaps and pulling her shirt down a bit to hide the bottoms that came with the bathing suit. It was actually rather embarrassing to wear it, even if it was around Chrom. "I'm okay. What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

He smiled even more, nodding. "Nothing! I already got everything we need packed up." He gestured over to a small basket that had been stuffed with towels and other things. He walked over, picking it up. "We might have to walk a bit, and with this basket I can't carry you." He teased. "Hope you're up for that, dear~"

Robin rolled her eyes a bit and let a real, genuine smile spread across her lips, her hand waving a little bit. "I think I'll be able to handle myself, darling." She exaggerated that last part a little bit, laughing quietly and moving up by his side with her hand held out so he could take it. "Would you be so kind as to lead the way?"

"Of course, milady." Chrom rose her tiny, soft hand to his lips, pressing them tenderly against her skin. He chuckled and dropped both their intertwined hands. He pulled her close for a second to place a chaste kiss on her forehead, and then they were on their way.

Robin looked away shyly as he kissed her hand and felt a blush rise to her cheeks, her smile only growing larger. She laced their fingers together and leaned up on her toes so he could reach her forehead better, placing a little kiss on his chin before they each pulled away and began walking. As they walked, she swung their hands together and hummed, glad that Chrom could at least take some fo her nervousness away.

The man enjoyed her company and how playful she could be. He noticed her slightly shy behavior, and hoped that if he continued to just tease her and act playful back that slim ounce of shyness would fade away. He talked about things with her; mostly about things they were usually too busy to talk about. They talked a little about the future, their plans, a little bit of strategizing, and a lot more. He did not want to stress Robin, though. It was their day off, and they deserved the freedom to break away from all the stress and work that usually bombarded their schedules. The small times like this, and spending time with Robin simply made Chrom's heart flutter. He could just forget about all his concerns and worries for once. He loved the way she did that to him.

The entire time they walked, they conversed with each other about things they never really had time for, and it felt nice to finally talk to him about these kinds of things. The two of them played around with each other by bumping each other with their hips and nuzzling up against each other slightly. Most people would consider their kind of love to be overly-mushy, and that only encouraged them to act like this more. Her happiness soon faded as they finally arrived to the shore, it wasn't that long of a walk to the location. She let go of Chrom's hand and watched him walk off to go set the basket down somewhere, eventually averting her attention to the large body of water surrounding them and gulping a little bit.

Chrom sighed loudly as he breathed in the fresh smell of the ocean. He smiled widely, and grabbed the hems of his shirt. He pulled it swiftly off his body with pleasure. As his muscles became exposed, Chrom turned to Robin who was not that far behind him. "Isn't it beautiful?" He chirped to the girl. He kneeled down as he started to set up a towel they could rest on later.

Robin began to walk slowly, her feet dragging slightly as she approached him. She tore her focus away from the water and to Chrom, nodding a bit and forcing another little smile that faded when she looked down at the basket. "Mm.. Er.. The water looks really nice today. Are you going to go swimming in it?" She decided that she would just end up sitting out on a towel watching him so he wouldn't have to swim, and it calmed her down a little bit.

"Hell yeah!" He smirked widely, placing a large hand on his waist. "Why not come swim alongside me, dear?"

She reached down for the hem of her shirt and slowly lifted it up over her head, turning herself away slightly in embarrassment and shaking her head. "N-No, that's okay! Really! I think I'm just going to sit up here and watch you."

"Aw, you sure?" He smiled gently at her. "There's nothing to be afraid of dear." Little did he know about Robin's little situation.

She puffed her cheeks out slightly as she faked a little pout and crossed her arms, turning her head away from him. "I know that! I'm not scared of the water!" She was lying, of course. But the only way she way going into the water was if Chrom threw her into it, and there was no way she was letting that happen.

"Then why not join?" He sighed. "Actually, you don't have to, babe. I shouldn't force you to do anything." He casted her one more smile before kicking his shoes off. He dashed towards the water and hopped in happily. The coolness of the salt water overcame the bluenette. He went under for a few moments, before his head popped back up cutely. His bangs draped over his eyes a little, and already was a mess.

She sat herself down on the towel Chrom laid out and stretched out, hugging her knees up the her chest and watching him as he ran off into the water like an overexcited child. She giggled quietly and shook her head, resting her chin on her knees as she watched him with a large smile. "Such a dork," she said to herself, sighing a bit and looking down at the ground with a soft smile and a soft expression.

"It's really refreshing, Robin! You're missing out!" He snickered, dunking his head under. He had always been a great swimmer, taught by Emmeryn as a little kid. He felt his muscles start to work as he swam under the somewhat foggy water. His endurance against the water was astounding.

Robin looked up once she heard her husbands voice again, the smile fading again and causing her to shake her head. "No, that's alright," she called back to him, her hands clutching her legs as a sense of security and her eyes tearing themselves away from the water again so she wouldn't have to look at it.

The man stayed afloat, examining his wife. He frowned a bit. Oh well. "Mm, more power to you, missy." He teased, smirking and disappearing once more under the water.

Each time Chrom would dunk himself under the water, she would panic a little bit, her eyes would also dart around the surface of the water in search for him and she would constantly have to calm herself down by remidning herself that he would be okay and he would be able to come back up.

Chrom failed to notice Robins paranoia. He constantly seemed to be torturing her as he started to stay under longer one dive after another. He enjoyed to swim a lot. It was refreshing, fun, and a great workout for him. He was already plenty in shape, but sometimes training and battles are not as intense as he prefers them to be.

Robin was sitting there ready to have a heart attack in a moment's notice, and finally she stood up and began to slowly approach the water. She backed up each time the water would roll up to the shore and she clasped her hands together nervously, her legs shifting and pressing together. "Chrom? Are you okay?" She knew he was perfectly fine, but she really couldn't help but worry about him.

There was silence. Just as Robin was about to panic, his head popped back out. "Hm? Oh hi there-" He blurted adorably, raising a soaked hand out of the water and waving it. "Coming to join me?" He smiled.

Chrom hadn't come up yet, and Robin was getting a little overly hysterical about this whole thing. She gasped as he suddenly popped out and sighed in relief, backing up a bit as the water came towards her feet. "Uh-- No, really, that's alright!"

"Aw, that's a shame." He tilted his head slightly. "I mean we could swim together, you could dunk my head under repeatedly, so on." He rambled slightly.

It was bad enough just watching him dunk his own head underneath the water, there was no way she was going to push him underneath. "No, really, it's fine.. I-I like it here!"

"Robin... What's up?" He said gently, frowning. "Do you not like the water..?"

She blinked a few times and laughed nervously, shaking her head. "Eh? No! I love the water! It's just.. too cold, is all! Yeah!"

The man sighed and got up and out of the water. He walked over and gently grabbed her hand. "Then walk in with me slowly so you can get used to it." He smiled at her, pecking her cheek. "We can take as long as you need to."

Robin watched as he rose out of the water and appraoched her, her hand hesitantly holding his once he grabbed it. She knew there was no way she was going to get out of this, so she nodded a little bit and gulped, putting on a fake smile to show her fake bravery. "Alright..!"

The two slowly stepped into he water. He stopped when the water got up to her knees, and because she started to tremble a little. "You alright?" He pressed gently. He gave her hand a tight squeeze to show he was still there for her.

Robin was panicking on the inside emmensly, but she remained mostly collected on the outside. She hardly even heard Chrom when he asked her if she was okay, and she didn't even notice that she was trembling. "Wha-- Oh! Y-Yes, I'm fine! Just cold!"

Chrom gave her a reassuring smile. He stood there with her and gave her some time. "Like I said, take your time, dear."

Robin laughed again a bit nervously and shook her head, her grip on his hand loosening a little bit. "I'm alright, Chrom. It's not that cold anymore."

He nodded, walking her into the water slowly. "Tell me when to stop."

She was still a bit nervous, but she was slowly calming down as she got into the water a bit more. She stopped once the water reached her waist and just her upper body was showing, her hand letting go of his. "This is good. I'll be okay here, the water is warmer."

"Aw, okay." He ventured back into the deeper depths, jumping back under again. Within seconds, Chrom disappeared yet again into the water.

Robin watched as Chrom disappeared again and stood there with her hands clasped again, her eyes darting around franctically and her heart racing in her chest out of fear.

She could now see the man slightly through the liquid. Since she was ths close up, she could track his every movement, and any signs of struggle. The man, meanwhile, swam back over and hopped out. He smiled a little and walked back over to her. He gave her a gentle hug. "I love you, Robin."

She felt a little relieved once she could see him swimming around in the water like some sort of fish, staying completely still and jumping a little bit when he suddenly sprung out of the water. She stood there for a moment and felt her face heat up a bit once he told her he loved her, cracking into a little smile and wrapping her arms around him while nuzzling her face into his chest. "I love you too, Chrom.."

Chrom smiled warmly at her. He rubbed her back gently, chuckling. "How much?" He teased.

Robin tilted her head to the side a bit and lifted her head, looking up at him. "Hmm..  The gods can't even comprehend how much I love you."

"Oh really?" He smirked.

SPLASH!

Suddenly, Chrom thrusted her into the water playfully with him.

She shot him a bit of a curious look and was about to question him before she was suddenly shoved underwater, her eyes widening under the water and any air that she may have been holding leaving her.

He pulled her close to him and swiftly caught his lips against hers. Chrom found it a new experience to kiss underwater, though both of their lips now tasted like salt water. He pulled her against his strong body, switching positions so that he hit the seafloor instead of her.

She could feel her heart freeze inside of her chest as Chrom pulled her closer and farther away from the surface of the water, her lips barely even pressing against his once he kissed her. Suddenly, a form of bubbles burst out of her mouth and a sort of scream came from her, her arms desperately trying to push away from him but he wouldn't let go. She never had much breath to begin with when he pulled her underneath, and her little scream didn't exactly help her situation either. She tried to yank her body away from him but found that she was growing weaker and her vision was beginning to get blurrier, her struggling becoming less and less in his grip.

Chrom eventually let go, swimming up to the surface and chuckling. He hopped away a little, expecting his wife to follow, ready to beat his face in. He blinked and slowed down, turning around. He watched as Robin never resurfaced. He smirked as he thought she was swimming around, waiting for the perfect oppurtunity to trip him. His smirk dropped, though, when he gawked as a petite body started to float up to the surface limply. "... Robin...?"

Robin began to feel light headed, her eyes fighting to stay open as her vision began to finally give out. She felt her entire body finally relax, her eye finally falling shut and the last few air bubbles coming from her. All she saw now was complete blackness, and she couldn't hear a single thing, but her body began to slowly rise up to the surface of the water, her back being the first thing to start bobbing since she was face down in the water.

Chrom gasped, his eyes widening and standing there in horror. He finally snapped back to reality, and rushed over. The water was too high for him to stand in where she had resurfaced at, so he resorted to diving under and getting her. Adrenaline pumped through his veins swiftly, fear pushing him. He swam as fast as he could to her body, grabbing it. It was limp and heavy. The bluenette freed his head, gasping for breath as he pulled her against him. He swam frantically along the surface to the shore. Panic had paralyzed him, and all he could think of was if he would be too late.

Robin's body was completely limp and motionless, not a single air bubble coming from her and the only movements coming from her were the ones the waves were inflicting on her. Her body was heavy once he grabbed it, but it wasn't exactly hard to carry around. Not a single breath came from her as he swam frantically towards the shore with her, her head occassionally slipping off and falling back into the water. Once they finally reached the shore, her arm fell by her side and dangled limply, her body looking completely lifeless as he rushed her back to their towel.

Chrom rushed her to the soft towel. He panted heavily, forcing himself to catch his breath quickly. He checked her, and realized she was not breathing. His jaw dropped. "No... No, OPEN YOUR EYES!" He yelled out. He started to tremble. Without thinking, Chrom leaned in and swiftly connected his lips with Robins. He started to perform CPR.

Robin's chest rose and lowered when Chrom breathed air into her, but she wouldn't move. Her eyes remained shut and her expression remained completely lifeless, no sign of any breathing coming from her and making it seem like she was actually completely dead. Her head fell to the side and her arms fell as well, her mouth gaping open just barely.

Chrom panted, centimeters away from her lips. He shook his head. "DAMNIT, ROBIN! WAKE UP!" He hissed out. The man pulled her close. Chrom was never one to cry, but for once, he could feel tears threaten his eyes. He tried once more to perform CPR.

Again, Robin didn't react. Her body just raised once he pulled it up but her arms didn't wrap around him for once. After a few more attempts of CPR, it became pretty much pointless to even try. Suddenly, a loud, shallow breath came from her and she began to go into a coughing fit, water pouring out of her mouth as her eyes flew open and her chest heaved as she drew in deep breaths for air.

Just when Chrom was about to just give up and face the fact he killed his wife, his best friend, his tactician, he froze once water hit his face. He gawked and stared at her. Tears dripped onto her face. His tears.

Robin continously gasped for breath until finally she was able to catch it, panting heavily and blinking constantly. Her eyes searched around and finally focused on Chrom's face, and her eyes widened a bit once she noticed that.. He was crying. He was crying, and she could feel him trembling as he held her. "C-Chrom..?"

He stared at her, his eyes widened in shock and fear. "... R-Robin... Y-you're okay..." He just pulled her tightly against himself, his face hiding into her gently shoulder. "I-I'm so sorry... Gods know what would've happened with you..."

She searched his face with a worried look and froze a little bit once he pulled her up to him, her arms slowly reaching up and wrapping around him. She held onto him tightly and hid her face against him, curling up into his secure hold and squeezing her eyes shut. "Chrom.."

"W-what happened?" His voice had become shaky and weak. "What did I do...?"

She tightened her slightly weaker grip on him and shook her head a little bit. "You.. You didn't do anything.. You didn't know.."

"C-can you not... Swim?" He managed out. It seemed to make a lot of sense why she was so reluctant to go into the water earlier.

As soon as he finished asking his question, she tensed up, just sitting there in complete silence before slowly shaking her head a little bit against him. "Mm-mm.."

"I-I'm sorry..." He repeated. He pulled Robin even tighter, never wanting to let go. "I-I almost lost you...!"

She felt a wave of guilt wash over her as he continued to apologize, his voice sounded broken and strained. She pressed the tips of her fingers against his back and sniffled a little, bititng the inside of her cheek. "I should have told you.. I'm sorry.."

"Are you okay? Are you breahing alright? Do you have to spit up anymore water?" He rushed questions at her, pulling away, gripping her shoulders gently and staring gently at her.

She stared up at him once he started to spout out questions and raised a hand, cupping his cheek and running her thumb along it. "I'm alright now, Chrom, calm down." She leaned up and pressed a gentle kiss against his lips, pulling away just barely so their forehead would be connected together.

The kiss calmed the man greatly. He had kissed her back, and then closed his eyes as their foreheads bumped. "Good..."

She kept a hold of his cheek and smiled a little bit as he seemed to calm down, her hand reaching up and combing through his damp hair. "I think that's enough swimming for one day.."

He nodded and slumped slightly. He brushed her wet hair aside, and sighed. "Let's both just calm down and relax..."

She nodded as well in agreement, slowly shifting her position so she had her back pressed against his chest and her knees hugged up to her chest. "Let's head back soon, okay..?"

His strong arms wrapped around her slightly. He sighed into her wet hair, nodding. "Mm..." The twos company really helped with the incident. They needed each other at the moment rather badly.

She let her arms fall over his and held them close to her chest, her chin resting on them and her eyes falling shut as she sighed and focused solely on his breathing. She suddenly lifted her head and turned it back towards him. "..I love you, Chrom."

He gently returned the look, smiling weakly. "I love you too, Robin..." He hugged her tighter. He hid his face sadly into her shoulder. "I promise to be easier with you from now on..."

She raised an arm and pressed her hand against the back of her head, placing a gentle, loving kiss against the side of his head. "Don't let this change your ways.. You don't need to be easier with me, I'm a strong girl." To prove it, she lowered her hand and flexed her arm, even though not much muscle showed up and she had no where near as much as him. "I think I might even have more muscle than you!"

Chrom could not help but smile widely and laugh. He hugged her and smothered kisses all over her cheek. "Right. You are strong."

Robin lowered her arm and giggled as he showered her in kisses and hugs. She slowly pulled his arms off of her and stood up, pushing her damp hair out of her eyes and making a bit of a face. "We should go bathe.."

"Yeah..." He got up, and properly gave Robin an embrace. He still felt terrible for what happened.

Robin hugged her arms around him in the embrace and pressed her cheek against his toned chest, her eyes casted down to the ground. "I'm fine, Chrom."

"I'm worried. I know you're strong, but things happen." He stated his reasoning to her. He gazed down at her. He raised a hand and gently let his finger lift her chin up. Chrom leaned in and gave Robin a passionate kiss on the lips.

She sighed a little bit and nodded in understandment, blinking a bit and leaning her head up as he guided it up towards him. She leaned up a bit to reach him easier and wrapped her arms around his neck, returning the passionate kiss and not being able to help but smile a little bit.

The bluenette soon broke the kiss, unabling them to go any farther. "We need to go home and wash off. Then perhaps a nice nap to finish the day off." He smiled widely.

The short female pat his cheek and nodded, smiling a bit at his suggestion and letting go of him. "Alright then, let's get everything together and get going. I don't want to start stinking like sea water before we get there."

He leaned down and started to collect their things. He sighed loudly, and glanced at the ocean. "... I should teach you how to swim-" He suddenly blurted to tease her.

She leaned down to help him collect their things, looking up at him and puffing her cheeks out a bit. She always did that whenever she was pouting, and it made her look more childish than anything.

He caught sight of her, and busted out laughing at her face. Her facial expressions were always the best.

She furrowed her eyebrows together and scrunched her nose up a bit as she pouted, picking up one end of the towel and huffing.

"Just kidding, Robin." He smiled. He helped her wrap up the towel and stuff sloppily into the basket. He turned to her and could not help but chuckle.

She wiped herself off once they finished and grabbed the shirt she had taken off earlier, pulling i back on over her head and pulling it down a bit so it would hide her bottoms. "Yeah, yeah."

He had put his shirt back on too. He snatched up the basket and sighed. "Ready?"

She looked back at him and nodded, taking a hold on his arm that wasn't holding the basket and leaning up on her toes to peck his cheek. "Mhm! Ready."

He bent down a little for her. He smiled. The two then made their way back to where they established their camp.

The horror of it all dragged me into it and I love it. I guess I can relate to this story's Robin. I've got a fear of drowning myself. >_<;;;
